Summary of ChargerLAB
In the selection of portable power stations, battery capacity and power are primary factors to consider. The capacities of the portable power stations in this collection range from 720Wh to 3108Wh, with the majority falling within 1500Wh.
Regarding output power, portable power stations reaching 1000Wh generally employ pure sine wave output, alleviating concerns about damaging electrical appliances. Their rated output power is also mostly above 1000W, with some reaching 2200W. Additionally, many portable power stations support upconversion drive technology and cascading expansion technology, enabling them to simultaneously power higher-wattage devices.
In terms of ports, the differences between various portable power stations are quite apparent. Apart from common AC outlets and multiple USB-C/A ports, some feature wireless charging modules on the top. Many also have additional ports like car sockets and DC outputs.
Concerning battery cells, portable power stations on the market primarily use lithium-ion, lithium iron phosphate, or lithium polymer cells. Lithium-ion batteries offer high energy density, long cycle life, and low cost. Lithium iron phosphate cells are known for exceptional safety, an even longer cycle life, and strong temperature adaptability. Lithium polymer cells boast small size, lightweight, and high safety.
Functionality-wise, there's considerable variation among available portable power stations. Basic functions like power display, battery management, and charging protection are generally present. However, factors like support for driving higher-wattage appliances, parallel connection capability, bidirectional inverter fast charging, solar charging, app control, UPS/EPS functions, are additional considerations that need to be taken into account.
