TI Launches LM51772: Versatile Buck-Boost Controller for Dynamic Power Management
Texas Instruments (TI) has unveiled the LM51772, a 55V 4-switch buck-boost controller designed for high-efficiency power management in demanding applications. The LM51772 supports a wide input range of 0V to 55V and adjustable output from 1V to 55V, making it highly adaptable for applications like USB Type-C power delivery, wireless charging, and industrial PCs.
With its dynamic voltage adjustment via an I²C interface, the LM51772 can fine-tune output voltages in small steps (20mV or 10mV depending on range). This enables precise power control and improved efficiency, even in fluctuating load conditions. The device also integrates key features like over-voltage and under-voltage protection, high-voltage LDO, and supports fast switching frequencies up to 2.2MHz.
Designed for applications that demand reliability and flexibility, the LM51772 offers robust performance with low quiescent current, peak current regulation, and efficient operation across modes, making it ideal for power-sensitive systems.
