Teardown
Next, let's take it apart to see its internal components and structure.

First, pry along the gap to open the cover.

There are foams for cushioning at the place where the cover contacts the battery cell.

The PCBA module is fixed with screws.

A thermistor is attached to the battery to measure temperature.

Remove the remaining case.

The battery cell is fixed with double-sided tapes.

There is a graphite sticker inside the shell for heat dissipation.

Tear off the sticker, the bottom layer is a composite material of graphite foam and copper foil.

The battery and PCBA module are connected by welding.

The battery is from LS. Nominal voltage 3.88V, nominal minimum capacity 4900mAh, maximum capacity 5000mAh, energy 19.02Wh, charging cut-off voltage 4.5V. Model is SP654588SL.

Disconnect the PCB and battery.

There is an NTC thermistor, an alloy inductor, a USB-C interface, a synchronous buck controller, a VBUS MOSFET, an MCU, a battery protection chip, and a battery protection MOSFET on the front of the PCBA module.

There are no main components on the back of the PCBA module.

The synchronous buck charger is from SouthChip. It is a synchronous buck charger with reverse boost discharging function. It integrates two N-channel MOSFETs and features an I2C interface. It adopts QFN4*4-32 package. Model is SC8934.

Here is the information about the SouthChip SC8934.

The edges of the alloy inductor are reinforced with glue. 2.2μH.

The MCU is from ABOV. It is used for input and output control, protocol identification, power display and protection functions, etc., and supports two USB-C interfaces and one USB-A interface application. It adopts 24QFN package. Model is A94P829LUN.

The VBUS MOSFET for the USB-C port is from JESTEK. It has a withstand voltage of 30V and adopts PDFN3.3X3.3 package. Model is JST3050.

The battery protection chip is marked with 8GA.

The battery protection MOSFET is marked with 6A 4998.

TVS diodes are used for overvoltage protection.

Well, those are all components of the Xiaomi 5000mAh Ultra-thin Power Bank.
