Satechi Unveils Two Stylish Qi2 Wireless Charging Stands at CES 2024
Introduction
With the formal conclusion of CES 2024, an increasing number of new products related to Qi2 have been officially unveiled or made available for purchase. In fact, we previously reported on Nomad launching the first Qi2 wireless charger for regular consumers, which you can view by clicking here.
This time around, Satechi, renowned for its sleek and stylish designs, focus on functionality, and high quality, has introduced their brand-new Qi2 product line, consisting of the 2-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand and the 3-in-1 Foldable Qi2 Wireless Charging Stand.
The entire series promises numerous advantages that Qi2 brings, such as increased charging speed up to 15W, improved efficiency, and enhanced security. As described by Satechi, Qi2 can be considered the next generation of wireless charging to some extent.
Notably, compared to Qi, Qi2 boasts a broader use range, incorporating a Magnetic Alignment feature for optimal charging positioning. Additionally, it is backward compatible with the original Qi technology.
While these advantages are standard for Qi2 chargers, the specific products add an extra layer of excitement. The 2-in-1 base version integrates two wireless charging zones for iPhones and AirPods. The bottom charging pad, speculated to be made of faux leather for anti-slip purposes, while the material of the magnetic charging area for the phone on top is indeterminable due to the lack of official images.
In terms of configuration, these two zones are connected by a solid metal column, with maximum output powers of 15W and 5W for the upper and lower areas, respectively. The entire device is powered by a USB-C port, and it features a white charging indicator on the front for easy monitoring of the charging status. Moreover, it supports StandBy mode in iOS 17.
The overall appearance of the 3-in-1 version maintains consistency with the previous model, with its most significant feature being the integration of a charging area for Apple Watch in the middle of the metal column. This results in a slightly wider metal column to enhance weight-bearing capacity.
The additional wireless charging pad can be neatly stored in a groove when not in use. Furthermore, the wireless charging pad for the phone bears a resemblance to Apple's MagSafe charger, allowing rotation to adapt to the optimal viewing angle for individual users. Satechi also claims that the 3-in-1 model supports fast charging for Apple Watches.
As the name suggests, the foldable metal column shrinks the entire device down to a pocket-friendly size, perfect for taking on the go. Whether nestled in your backpack for work trips, perched on your bedside table for nighttime charging, or gracing your desk for workday convenience, its compact form and easy storage make it a versatile charging companion.
Both versions are equipped with a comprehensive package, featuring a 45W charger and travel adapter tailored for diverse countries and regions. This inclusion is notably uncommon among similar all-in-one wireless chargers, enhancing the overall value proposition and positioning it as a reasonably cost-effective choice.
