Charging Scenario
Next, we tested the compatibility and charging power performance of the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger with iPhone 14 series and Android phones that support wireless charging.
We conducted compatibility tests on the iPhone 14 series, and there were no problems in terms of adaptation since the camera module is almost the same size as the 13 Pro series.
For iPhone 14 Pro, although its size is the same as iPhone 14, the camera module is larger. However, it did not affect the adaptation.
Even on larger cameras like the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger is fully compatible without obstructing the camera module. Therefore, the iPhone 14 series is fully compatible with it.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger, the measured input power is 0.33W, which can be ignored when idle.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the iPhone 14, the measured output power of the charger is 5.9W.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the iPhone 11, the measured output power of the charger is 9.66W, that means the power will be limited to around 7.5W without MagSafe certification.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the Samsung galaxy S22+, the measured output power of the charger is 10.40W.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the Xiaomi 11 Pro, the measured output power of the charger is 12.36W.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the Huawei Mate 40 Pro, the measured output power of the charger is 6.37W.
When using the Apple original 35W charger (A2676) to connect to the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger to charge the Oneplus 9 Pro, the measured output power of the charger is 7.71W.
Fully Charging Test
Regarding the fully charging test of the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger, the iPhone 14 was used for this test. The entire test process was performed in a thermotank throughout the test at 25℃. After powering on, the test results are as follows:
Upon powering on, the voltage was set to 9V. The charging power remained stable at around 10W for the first 10 minutes. Then, it dropped to around 5W at the 12th minute, and rose back up to around 10W at the 17th minute. This charging process keeps cycling until the 2 hours and 22nd minute mark, after which the charger switched to trickle charging mode until the phone was fully charged. The entire charging process took approximately 2 hours and 57 minutes.
By drawing it into a chart, we can see that IDMIX magnetic wireless charger takes 1 hour and 13 minutes to charge the iPhone 14 to 50%, 2 hours and 2 minutes to charge to 80%, and it takes 2 hours and 57 minutes to fully charge the phone.
Temperature Test
The IDMIX magnetic wireless charger and the iPhone 14 were placed in a thermotank at 25℃. The environment simulated the household voltage of 220V and frequency of 50Hz. Temperature data was collected during iPhone 14's charging process, and the temperature was recorded at 15 minutes and 30 minutes intervals.
From the chart, we can see that the maximum temperature of the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger surface during the iPhone 14's 15-minute charging period was 41.6℃, as captured by a thermal imaging camera.
From the chart, we can see that the maximum temperature of the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger surface during the iPhone 14's 30-minute charging period was 43.1℃, as captured by a thermal imaging camera.
From the chart, we can see that the maximum temperature of the IDMIX magnetic wireless charger surface during the iPhone 14's 60-minute charging period was 43.3℃, as captured by a thermal imaging camera. This temperature is not hot to the touch for daily use and feels relatively mild when touched.
