Recently, we have reported many GaN component based USB-C Power Delivery and USB-A chargers. GaN (Gallium Nitride) is a relatively new type of material that can be used to manufacture semiconductors. The major advantage of GaN component over traditional Silicon-based component is efficiency. In the application of power devices, GaN FET can achieve up to 40% less of power loss while at the same time have 15X smaller footprint. If you want to know more about GaN, watch our interview with Navitas, the major IC provider behind a lot of GaN chargers.
With the help of GaN IC, USB-C and USB-A chargers can be made much smaller. A smartphone charger sized charger can now easily power larger devices like laptops. We are quite excited to see more and more GaN chargers coming to the market and made a list to share with our readers.

▲ Mu One: World’s Thinnest 45W International Charger
We were surprised by USB-A charger from Mu a couple of years ago. The plug part is interchangeable to use in different regions when you travel. The most memorable feature is its foldable design to ease the pain of carrying chargers with bulky UK plug. The new USB-C Version has a similar shape design, but much higher output at 45W.

@Joor: These don't have GaN inside.
Nice, but all these GaN chargers, even the USB PD PPS mode chargers seem to have a 3 Amp output limit.
Still waiting for someone, other than Samsung's 45W charger, to use the USB PD PPS mode in a 4.5A or 5A rate. The samsung Note 10+ uses a 4.5A PPS mode and no one can touch it in charging speed...
The USB PD standard has 100W/5A chipped cables for anything over 3A... I wish someone other than Samsung would try to even use it. None of these GaN chargers will charge a Note faster than 25W due to the 3A max they use. :-/
