Exploring the Charging Detail of Your Steam Deck - ChargerLAB Compatibility 100
Introduction
A few months ago, ChargerLAB purchased the hottest and most powerful handheld gaming console Steam Deck at the time and tested its charging compatibility, with excellent results, just like its compatibility with the vast game library on Steam. Recently, Valve officially announced that it just passed 10,000 verified and playable titles. Meanwhile, we have also acquired several new charging products, including the highly anticipated Apple 70W GaN Charger.
And that's why we have recently conducted a more detailed ChargerLAB Compatibility 100 Test for the Steam Deck, which includes multiple categories. Next, ChargerLAB will presents the results in the form of images and text, allowing everyone to have a clearer and straightforward understanding of the charging compatibility of this gaming device.
For those who are not familiar with PC gaming, Steam Deck is a handheld gaming device from Valve Corporation. People can enjoy playing their Steam library games anytime, anywhere, and all games have been adapted to work seamlessly with Steam Deck's controls. Currently, Steam Deck offers three specifications, primarily differing in storage capacity.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will select 80 chargers, 10 power banks, and 10 power stations for compatibility testing. Let's take a look at the result.
Chargers
First, let's review the results when Steam Deck is paired with the original 45W power adapter. ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM002C shows that it can trigger the 15V PDO, and the input power is about 39W, which is lower than the advertised 45W.
Next, we tested third-party chargers, and we have summarized the data from the 80 tested models in a table. It can be seen that most of them can trigger the 15V PDO.
By plotting a bar graph, it can be observed that more than half of the chargers can achieve 35W or more power output. Some chargers have lower power output, but they still reach their power limits. Overall, the charging compatibility for chargers of Steam Deck is as excellent as its game compatibility.

Power Bank
Moving on to power banks, we have also summarized the data in a table, and it can be seen that most of the tested models trigger the 15V PDO, similar to the chargers.
By plotting a bar graph, we can see that about half of the tested power banks can achieve around 35W power output, while the remaining power output falls in the range of 15-25W. The compatibility is also excellent.

Power Station
Finally, let's take a look at the performance of power stations. Among the ten tested models, only one cannot trigger the 15V PDO and only provides 5V.
Once again, by plotting a bar graph, it can be seen that eight power stations can achieve 35W or more power output. Only Jackery 2000W and ZESE 1200W fall below 20W, but there are no cases of complete incompatibility.

Summary of ChargerLAB
In conclusion, the charging compatibility of the Steam Deck demonstrates excellent performance. Although none of the tested devices achieved the 39W output of the original power adapter, the majority of the tested chargers, out of the 80 models, were able to reach approximately 35W, providing a good charging experience. The compatibility of power banks and power stations also showed outstanding performance. As a result, the Steam Deck successfully passed the ChargerLAB Compatibility 100 Test.
Based on Valve's long-standing commitment to user-friendliness, including features like the open "Steam Workshop" with countless user-created and shared mods, the industry-leading game review and rating system, and the multitude of promotions and sales, it's no surprise that the Steam Deck exhibits high compatibility with charging devices.
