Experience Superior Oral Hygiene with Laifen Sweep Shock Electric Toothbrush
Introduction
In late 2023, Laifen, a company that has brought the trend of high-speed hair dryers to the market, launched a new product line, the Laifen Sweep Shock Electric Toothbrush. Laifen calls this electric toothbrush the "next generation of electric toothbrush" because it uses a special sweep and shock motion that is different from previous electric toothbrushes, along with its adoption of magnetic charging ports.
Package
First, let's take a look at the packaging of the Laifen Sweep Shock Electric Toothbrush. The material, placement, color, and font design of the box and cable are completely copied from the iPhone packaging style. The experience of unboxing the toothbrush is almost the same as unboxing an iPhone. It is hard to say whether this constitutes plagiarism, but it is certainly innovative. In addition, the bundled charging cable in the package is USB-C to magnetic connector, which supports the mainstream PD chargers for consumer electronics.
Design
This electric toothbrush adopts an integrated body design, which eliminates the accumulation of dirt and dust and achieves IPX7 waterproof level. Its shell has a seamless pressure-sensitive switch, the top is a replaceable toothbrush head, and the bottom is the charging area. The overall appearance is very simple, with a length of about 12cm and a round body.
Sweep and Shock Technology
Currently, electric toothbrushes on the market are mainly divided into two types. The most common type is the sonic toothbrush, which vibrates at extremely small frequencies. Another type is the rotating head toothbrush, with the brush head rotating back and forth. Laifen's electric toothbrush uses a rare 60° large-amplitude sweeping motion, similar to the Bass brushing method, which has a larger cleaning area.
Power and Battery Life
The motor power of the Laifen Sweep Shock Electric Toothbrush reaches 6.1W, which is three times that of a regular sonic toothbrush. It is equipped with an efficient 900mAh x 2 dual-cell series battery pack, providing up to 30 days of battery life. In terms of charging, it uses a magnetic charging method similar to that of the MacBook. The bundled charging cable is also a woven cable that is very similar to the Apple MagSafe cable. The connector type is USB-C on the input side and magnetic on the output side. The toothbrush has a three-pin magnetic charging port at the bottom, featuring a three-contact magnetic charging port for effortless auto-alignment charging.
Brush Head
The back of the brush head uses a metal counterweight balance design to make the brush head swing more stably. The bristles are made of high-end nylon material with a grinding rate of 90%. The diameter of 0.02mm can deeply clean the gaps between the teeth, and a 90-day fading design is added to remind users to replace them in time. It supports Laifen APP control, allowing users to set the strength and mode of the toothbrush, with a three-dimensional ten-level adjustment range. Users can also customize their brushing habits to meet the needs of different groups of people.
Summary of ChargerLAB
The Laifen Sweep Shock Electric Toothbrush adopts a design that pays homage to Apple. The iPhone packaging box, MacBook magnetic charging, woven cable, and body materials are all full of Apple flavor. In terms of toothbrush function, it uses a unique sweep and shock technology with a larger sweeping range and a wider cleaning area. It should be able to open up a new field for electric toothbrushes.
This innovative electric toothbrush is available in three materials. The most cost-effective model is made of food-grade ABS material through secondary injection molding and costs only 299 yuan (US$42). The aluminum alloy body model is made by continuous stretching molding, with a matte finish. The price is 399 yuan (US$56). The stainless steel body is similar to the aluminum alloy model in terms of process. The AF anti-fingerprint coating on the surface gives the surface a mirror finish. The price is also the most expensive, reaching 499 yuan (US$70). In terms of brush heads, Laifen has made a declaration that it will promote the technology of sweep and shock toothbrushes. It will not make money by selling consumables. Six brush heads are only sold for 59 yuan (US$8), which is very affordable. However, it is important to note that this product is currently only sold in China.
But fret not, as they recently announced their plan to unveil this product at the highly anticipated CES 2024, taking place from January 9th to 12th. We'll be keeping a close eye on it and the slew of upcoming tech products, so stay tuned!
