Compatibility Test of Xiaomi 100W GaN Charger (2024)
Introduction
Two years ago, we tested the charging compatibility of the Xiaomi 100W GaN Charger; since then, Xiaomi has released several new products. Let's take a look at how it performs with these new products.
Protocol Test
First, let's examine the charging protocols it supports. Using the POWER-Z KM003C, we found that it is compatible with UFCS, QC3.0, PD3.0, and Xiaomi's own charging protocols.
And it supports five fixed PDOs of 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V3, 15V3A and 20V5A, and two PPS of 3.6-11V 5A and 3.6-20V 5A.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will conduct a comprehensive test on the compatibility of the Xiaomi 100W GaN charger, evaluating its performance with a selection of Xiaomi phones, aiming to cover the majority of users' charging scenarios.
First up is Xiaomi’s highest-spec flagship, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Using the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C, we recorded an output of 18.95V 3.43A, resulting in 65.01W.
The best performance was seen with the Redmi K70 Ultra, where the power reached 17.54V 5.15A, totaling 90.30W.
At the other end of the spectrum was the Redmi Note 10, an older model. Sadly, it only reached 8.96V 1.60A, producing 14.36W.
Summarizing the data in a table, it's clear that the Xiaomi 100W adapter triggers 9V, 12V, and 18V voltage levels when charging Xiaomi phones, achieving fast charging power for all tested devices.
When visualized in a bar chart, it’s easy to see that the Redmi K70 Ultra had the highest charging power, reaching 90.29W. Other Xiaomi and Redmi models also demonstrated excellent fast-charging performance, showcasing great compatibility.
Summary of ChargerLAB
The Xiaomi 100W GaN charger continues the minimalist design style of its predecessor, featuring a sleek, high-flame-resistant white PC exterior with rounded edges, providing a smooth and pleasant feel.
In terms of compatibility with Xiaomi devices, it excels, consistently delivering the maximum fast charging supported by the phones. With support for PD 100W, it can also provide reliable power to most laptops, tablets, and handheld devices, offering a "one charger for all" experience.
