Compatibility Test of REDMAGIC 9S Pro+
Introduction
About a year ago, we conducted a charging compatibility test video for the REDMAGIC 8 Pro+, which demonstrated decent PPS support. Today, we have its successor, the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+, equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 "advanced," a 5500mAh large battery, and 165W fast charging. Let's see if its already excellent charging compatibility has further improved.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will conduct the test, evaluating its compatibility with a selection of more than dozens of charging devices, including both orignial chargers and third-party chargers, aiming to cover the majority of users' charging scenarios.
Original Chargers
Using the original 165W charger (model: NB-A20825C) to charge the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+, the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C tester measured the phone's input power at 17.51V 8.02A 140.38W.
Testing the phone with chargers of different power levels, all paired with the original Dual USB-C cable, the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+ achieved a maximum charging power of around 140W. Very impressive.
Creating a bar chart of the various charging powers, we can see that the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+ reaches between 63-141W with its original charging kit, leading in fast charging for phones and providing an excellent experience with the original charger.
Third-party Chargers
The AOHi 140W charger provided the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+ with 16.76V 4.97A 83.31W of power.
Summarizing the third-party charger compatibility test data, the tested third-party chargers and the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+ triggered 9V and 17V voltages with currents around 2-5A.
Creating a bar chart of the charging power data, we can see that the charging power mainly falls into four levels: 20W, 25W, 50W, and 80W. The highest power came from the SHARGE 100W charger, reaching 87.34W. Due to its special voltage level, the Apple 29W charger had lower power, only 11.57W.
Summary of ChargerLAB
As a gaming phone, the REDMAGIC 9S Pro+ features the Snapdragon 8 Gen3 "advanced," ensuring top-notch performance. Its 5500mAh large battery and 165W fast charging provide excellent battery life. In terms of third-party charger compatibility, it supports high-power PPS, so users can choose high-power chargers with PPS support for an outstanding fast charging experience.
