Compatibility Test of iQOO Z9 Turbo
Introduction
Chinese smartphones have long been renowned for their blazing-fast charging speeds, with brands like Xiaomi, realme, and iQOO leading the charge. However, their third-party charger compatibility has often been a sore point, with performance often falling far short of their bundled chargers.
Recently released iQOO devices like the iQOO Neo9 Pro have shown notable improvements in this regard, supporting up to 30W, thanks to the new UFCS protocol. Today, we delve into the charging compatibility of iQOO's latest offering, the iQOO Z9 Turbo.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will conduct the test, evaluating its compatibility with a selection of more than dozens of charging devices, aiming to cover the majority of users' charging scenarios.
Original Chargers
While we only included iQOO chargers in this segment, the results are also applicable to vivo chargers since iQOO is a subsidiary of vivo.
Firstly, according to the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C, the power is 9.40V 6.96A 65.49W when charging with the iQOO 200W charger.
Compiling the test data for all iQOO chargers paired with their original charging cables, we observed that the voltage consistently hovered around 10V.
Creating a bar chart of all the charging powers, we found that some chargers were limited by a 6A current, resulting in an output of around 54W, while others managed to reach around 65W.
Third-party Chargers
In the third-party charger section, taking the Aohi 140W charger (model: AOC-C012) as an example, it can provide a power of 8.49V 3.68A 31.24W for the phone.
And the power output dropped significantly to 8.85V 1.32A 11.70W when switching to the Apple 140W charger (model: A2452)
Summarizing the test data for third-party chargers paired with high-quality third-party cables, we discovered that they generally triggered an 8V output with zero instances of incompatibility.
Plotting the data as a bar chart revealed that the charging power primarily falls into three categories: 12W, 25W, and 33W. Furthermore, chargers that support the UFCS fusion fast charging protocol can achieve charging powers of around 35W, representing a significant improvement compared to previous years.
Summary of ChargerLAB
The iQOO Z9 Turbo demonstrates a significant leap forward in third-party charger compatibility compared to older models. While all the third-party chargers still fall short of the bundled charger's performance, the overall compatibility has improved markedly. The introduction of the UFCS protocol has played a crucial role in this advancement, enabling wider compatibility. Users can now confidently choose from a broader range of chargers without compromising on charging speed.
