Compatibility Test of CUKTECH 120W GaN Charger (Xiaomi Phones)
Introduction
Few days ago, we got our hands on the CUKTECH 120W GaN charger. It is available in four colors and is smaller and lighter than the previous generation. It also has three output ports (2C1A) with independent output circuits that do not interfere with each other and support dynamic power distribution. In terms of protocols, it supports 100W PPS, 120W Xiaomi fast charging, UFCS fusion fast charging and other protocols. let's delve into its charging compatibility with Xiaomi phones.
Protocol Test
First, using the ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C, we found that the USB-C1 port supports QC3+, PD, Xiaomi, DCP, and Apple 2.4A charging protocols.
Additionally, the USB-C1 port supports five sets of fixed PDOs: 5V3A, 9V3A, 12V3A, 15V3A, and 20V5A, as well as two sets of PPS: 5-11V6.1A and 5-20V6A.
The USB-C2 port supports the same fast-charging protocols as the USB-C1.
Similarly, the PDOs are the same for USB-C2.
The USB-A port supports multiple protocols, including UFCS, FCP, SCP, AFC, QC3.0, DCP, and Apple 2.4A.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will conduct a test on the compatibility of the CUKTECH 120W GaN charger, evaluating its performance with a selection of dozen Xiaomi devices.
First, when charging the latest Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the charger provided 18.28V 2.90A 53.04W of power; this compatibility is not great for a phone that supports up to 90W charging.
The best performance was seen with the Redmi K60 Ultra, which reached 18.24V 5.57A 101.66W.
Summarizing the data in a table, it is evident that the CUKTECH 120W GaN charger triggers the 9V and 18V voltage levels for Xiaomi phones, generally achieving fast charging power.
When plotting the test data in a bar chart, it is clear that the highest power reached when charging the Redmi K60 Ultra was 101.54W, nearly reaching the model's maximum fast-charging level. Other Xiaomi phones also achieved fast charging, demonstrating excellent compatibility.
Summary of ChargerLAB
In terms of appearance, the charger is available in four colors and is smaller and lighter than typical 120W chargers, making it easier to carry for travel. In terms of compatibility, it not only supports Xiaomi's proprietary 120W fast-charging protocol but also QC3.0, PD, PPS, UFCS, DCP, and other charging protocols, offering a wide range of fast-charging options. While fast charging Xiaomi devices, its 100W PD output capability can also power laptops and other devices, making it ideal for Xiaomi fans who own multiple devices.
