Compatibility Test
We use some third-party chargers and cables to test the real-time charging power.
Use the OPPO 80W charger to charge the phone, the real-time charging power is about 8.63V 7.37A 63.55W.
The real-time charging power is about 7.91V 3.00A 23.73W when using the original 100W charger with a third-party 6A cable to charge the phone.
The real-time charging power is about 8.89V 1.91A 17.02W when charged with the AOHi 140W charger.
We know that when charged with the original charger set, the charging power ranges from 52W to 81W.
When using third-party chargers, the charging power is mainly in the range of 17W. In addition, when the third-party charger supports the UFCS protocol, the charging power can increase to about 24W.
Full Charging Test
We use the original 100W charger to fully charge the OPPO Find X7 Ultra. And put them into a 25°C (77℉) thermotank throughout the test.
The voltage is always about 9V but fluctuates. The charging curve can be divided into seven parts. In the first part, the power was about 73W for the first 1 min and 28 seconds. Then, the power gradually drops to 71W, 61W, 57W, 54W, and 46W in turn. The final part begins at 19 mins, and the power slowly drops to almost zero. It takes 29 mins to be fully charged.
From this chart, the OPPO Find X7 Ultra can reach 50% in 10 mins and 80% in 18 mins. It also reaches 100% in 29 mins.
Temperature Test
We also recorded the highest temperature on the front and back after charging for 5 mins, 10 mins, and 20 mins.
5 Mins Charging
After 5 mins, the maximum temperature on the front is 35.6 °C (96.08 ℉).
The back is 38.1 ℃ (100.58 ℉).
10 Mins Charging
After 10 mins, the maximum temperature on the front increases to 38.7 °C (101.66 ℉).
And the back is 39.1 °C (102.38 ℉).
20 Mins Charging
After 20 mins, the maximum temperature on the front drops to 36 °C (96.8 ℉).
The back is also 36 °C (96.8 ℉).
We know from this chart, that the temperature on the back is higher than on the front. The temperature is highest at 10 minutes, and the power is about 54W at this time. After 20 minutes of charging, the temperature has dropped to 36°C. It's only warm to the touch at this time, so the temperature control is pretty good.
Summary of ChargerLAB
The charging performance continues OPPO's consistent level. After testing, it only needs 29 minutes to be fully charged with the large-capacity battery of 5000mAh.
With the original charger set, the charging power can reach up to 80W. However, after the charger set is replaced, the charging power will be greatly affected. Its maximum temperature during charging is 39.1°C.
It can be fully charged in a short time through the private protocol. So, we recommend using the original charger set to get a better charging experience.
