Is it compatible? Let's find out.
Product Introduction
Except for the test cable itself, the box also contains an English user manual for you to start quickly.
The AK001 is a USB2.0 cable that can support up to 240W. It has a Velcro cable tie included for users to shorten and fix it.
The 0.96-inches color display is placed in the middle, which can show the real-time voltage, current, and power. And you can even see the PCB through the translucent matte case.
We can see our logo, model, website, and a small physical button on the back. You can short-press, long-press or double-press the button to achieve different functions.
The display shows the real-time voltage, current, and power after powering on.
The data displayed in the USB detection menu from top to bottom are cable spec/current direction, signal voltage/capacity, data port voltage/temperature, data port voltage/timer.
Press the button on the back once, and the screen will switch between the main menu, USB detection menu, LOGO page, and off-screen.
There are extended shells at both ends of the cable, and the soft material is resistant to folding and has a longer life.
The E-Marker chip info cannot be recognized by the POWER-Z KM003C tester, but after take it apart, it is found that there is a chip inside.
The length of the cable is about 1.5M (5FT), which is pretty enough for different use.
And the length of the translucent case is about 6.5cm (2.56 inches). Pretty compact.
Charging Test
We conducted a charging test on several smartphones to compare the actual power output with our other testers.
The tested devices included the MacBook Pro 2019 (140W charger), Huawei P40 Pro (88W charger), Meizu 20 PRO (80W charger), and Xiaomi 11Pro (120W charger).
By using the POWER-Z AK001 to charge the MacBook Pro 2019, voltage, current, and power information were displayed on the screen.
The measured charging power was 20.51V 4.74A 97.29W, which was consistent with the original dual USB-C cable and achieved the maximum charging power.
When connecting the original 80W charger with the Meizu 20 PRO by the POWER-Z AK001, voltage, current, and power information were also displayed on the screen.
The tested charging power was 18.35V 3.64A 66.8W.
The original dual USB-C cable's charging power was 18.18V 3.52A 64.1W, which is similar.
Similarly, when connecting the original 88W charger with the Huawei P40 Pro by the POWER-Z AK001, voltage, current, and power information were also displayed on the screen.
The measured charging power was 9.5V 4.04A 38.32W, which triggered the Huawei 40W SuperCharge.
Comparing to the original USB-C cable's result, which is 9.29V 3.81A 35.36W, the AK001 even exhibited higher charging power.
Finally, when connecting the original 55W charger with the Xiaomi 11Pro by the POWER-Z AK001, voltage, current, and power information were also displayed on the screen.
The measured charging power was 8.85V 5.22A 46.22W, which triggered the Xiaomi 55W SuperCharge.
The original USB-C cable's charging power was 8.96V 4.99A 44.72W, that means the AK001 still provided slightly higher charging power.
