CES 2024 | Unveiling the Latest EV Charging Innovations
Introduction
The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) buzzed with innovation, and the electric vehicle (EV) sector was no exception. A wide array of companies, from established brands to newcomers, unveiled their latest offerings in the EV charger landscape, showcasing advancements in design, functionality, and user experience.
Last time, we introduced some of the eye-catching new PD3.1 chargers at the exhibition. This time, let's shift our focus to EV chargers.
Factory Category
AOHAI
AOHAI's parent company AOHAI unveiled a new EV charger at CES 2024.
The product from AOHAI is an intelligent charger capable of both charging and discharging.
It incorporates the latest EV CHARGER 3.0 technology.
With a silver-gray body and black charging port and cables, featuring a three-pin plug.
CE-LINK
CE-LINK also introduced a new EV charger.
The EV charger showcased by CE-LINK appears sleek and minimalist, with a black and white color scheme. The charging port and cable connections are black, while the main body of the EV charger is white. A small display on the charging box provides charging information.
Brand Category
Anker
At the EV charger exhibition area, Anker, a familiar face, presented several interesting products.
They showcased their electric vehicle charging product, Anker SOLIX V1 EV charger.
The Anker SOLIX V1 EV charger sports a gray-black design, with the black part of the charging box shaped like a "Y." The EV charger hangs from the black section below, with relatively long cables enabling charging even from distant parking spots.
ETN
A card-swipe electric vehicle charging product caught everyone's attention at the event.
This card-swipe charging box offers a user-friendly automatic charging payment method. It features a green strip indicator light at the top and an LCD display for intuitively displaying charging information.
The EV charger from ETN comes with pure black cables, making it highly resistant to dirt when used outdoors. The cables are also long, providing a wide charging range.
KN
KN introduced a smart charging wallbox for electric vehicles at the exhibition.
At the event, a white charging box with well-controlled volume was observed, indicating that home fast charging stations will likely become a major trend in the future. Their vision is to deliver power back home through the battery of EV9.
PIKKA
PIKKA also exhibited several EV chargers at their booth.
PIKKA presented various charging solutions at CES, suitable for different charging scenarios.
Among them, one rectangular-shaped charger drew much attention, resembling Doraemon's "Anywhere Door," exuding a futuristic vibe. The EV charger is located on both sides, making it convenient to use.
Some of PIKKA's products have already obtained safety certifications from multiple countries and are expected to be launched soon.
SCHAEFFLER
At the event, we witnessed SCHAEFFLER demonstrating an "unusual" method of lifting the rear of a vehicle for charging.
The SCHAEFFLER demonstration vehicle utilizes a TMM system.
Star Charge
In the Star Charge exhibition area, there are multiple EV chargers on display.
A phone booth-like EV charger was spotted, featuring a retro design with a modern black-and-white color contrast.
This EV charger also comes in a version with a display, allowing users to browse information such as charging power, enhancing the user experience.
Both of these EV chargers are compact, occupying minimal space. The curved surface on top effectively shields against rainwater, making them suitable for placement in communities.
A home power solution capable of powering the installed EV charger was also observed.
Star Charge also showcased several charging stations.
The charging station resembles equipment found at traditional gas stations, and it is expected that such charging stations will be seen at highway service areas in the future.
The charging station measures over 7 feet in height and accommodates 2 EV chargers, capable of simultaneously charging multiple vehicles.
Green strip indicator lights are present on top of the EV chargers, and an LCD screen displays information specific to each EV charger.
We also witnessed a robotic arm autonomously charging EVs, demonstrating how future technology can free up hands.
YADEA
At CES 2024, we encountered YADEA, a Chinese electric bicycle brand.
YADEA showcased an electric motorcycle at the event, accompanied by charging stations.
The electric motorcycle features a color scheme of fluorescent green, black, and white, presenting a very stylish appearance.
It can be charged using an EV charger, offering a significantly enhanced driving experience compared to traditional fuel motorcycles, and is more environmentally friendly and cost-effective.
ChargerLAB witnessed many of the latest EV chargers firsthand at CES 2024. These devices enable rapid charging of electric vehicles, further enhancing the user experience, and are expected to appear in our daily lives very soon.
