Apple iPhone 15 Plus Charging Test - ChargerLAB Compatibility 100
Introduction
Equipped with the largest battery in the entire series and a 60Hz refresh rate display, the iPhone 15 Plus unsurprisingly has the best battery life among all models in the iPhone 15 series. However, what about the charging compatibility? Is it still the best? With the fourth installment of our ChargerLAB Compatibility 100 tests for the iPhone 15 series, which is also the final one, we will provide answers to this question.
Charging Compatibility Test
ChargerLAB will conduct a comprehensive test on the compatibility of the iPhone 15 Plus, evaluating its performance with a selection of more than 100 charging devices. These devices include Apple chargers, third-party chargers, power banks, and portable power stations, aiming to cover the majority of users' charging scenarios.
Apple Chargers
First, the iPhone 15 series has specific pin requirements for USB-A to USB-C charging cables, and even cables from the same batch may experience charging issues. So for now, we are only assessing the charging compatibility performance when paired with USB-C to USB-C cables (with some margin of error).
Next, let's take the Apple 140W charger (model: A2452) as an example. ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C shows that it can deliver 8.44V 2.94A, equivalent to 24.85W of power to the iPhone 15 Plus.
We tested all the Apple fast chargers we have. And the output PDO of chargers with a power rating above 30W consistently falls on the value of 9V3A, without exception.
Create a bar chart to take a closer look at the tested charging power. Obviously, almost all chargers are always around the 25W level. For chargers with an output power above 30W, the bottleneck is the charging strategy of the phone, while for chargers with a maximum output power below 20W, the bottleneck is the maximum output power of the charger itself.

Third-Party Chargers
Moving on to third-party chargers.
Let's take the Sharge 140W charger (model: S140) as an example. It can deliver 8.74V 2.95A, equivalent to 25.75W of power to the iPhone 15 Plus.
Summarizing the data into a table, without exception, all chargers with a power rating above 30W triggered a 9V3A output.
Plotting the data into a bar graph, we can see that once again, the charging power of the iPhone 15 Plus stays at the 25W level. However, the HONOR 65W charger is an exception, consistently delivering only 17W, ranking at the bottom.

Power Banks
Next up, let's take a look at the power banks. All the tested devices trigger 9V3A again.
Once again, plotting the data into a bar graph, the power output remains around 25W. So, power banks that support the PD 9V3A level can meet this phone's charging needs.

Power Stations
Lastly, we have power stations. These devices generally have 60W/100W USB output ports. As expected, all the devices tested triggered the 9V level, with no 5V level detected.
Plotting the data into a bar graph, the iPhone 15 Plus's charging power remains around 25W, showing no significant variation when compared to other chargers, and power banks.

Summary of ChargerLAB
In a nutshell, the iPhone 15 Plus shows decent performance when used with both Apple's charger and third-party chargers rated at 20W or higher. This is always welcome for those who can't stand the majority of Android manufacturers using proprietary charging protocols.
Furthermore, the newly added USB-C port enhances the accessory compatibility of the iPhone more than ever before. In fact, we have dedicated several articles to introduce accessories that are compatible with the iPhone 15 series. Those interested can check them out.
In conclusion, the iPhone 15 Plus has successfully passed the ChargerLAB Compatibility 100 Test, and the compatibility test report issued by us is provided below.
