45W | Compatibility Test of Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra
Introduction
In January 2024, Samsung released the Galaxy S24 Ultra, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. It is equipped with a large 5000mAh battery and supports charging speeds of up to 45W.
Shortly after its release, we conducted a charging review video for the S24 Ultra. But we forgot about making a charging compatibility video. So, let's see if its charging compatibility has improved over the previous generation.
Charging Compatibility Test
Next, ChargerLAB will conduct the test, evaluating its compatibility with a selection of more than hundreds of charging devices, including both chargers and power banks, aiming to cover the majority of users' charging scenarios.
Original Chargers
First, we used the Samsung GaN 45W charger, which matches the maximum charging power of the device. The ChargerLAB POWER-Z KM003C measured a power input of 9.16V, 4.53A, 41.50W.
Switching to the Samsung GaN 65W charger, the power slightly increased to 9.26V, 4.80A, 44.45W.
Using the original charger with the original 5A Dual USB-C cable, the summary data showed stable charging power for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, with the voltage mostly maintaining at 9V.
The bar chart indicates that the original chargers' power output is very stable, with the highest being the Samsung 65W charger at 44.45W, which is the maximum power supported by the phone
Third-party Chargers
Next, we tested the Apple 140W charger, which provided 8.62V, 2.59A, which is 22.35W, far below the 45W maximum.
The Anker 150W charger, supporting high-power PPS, achieved 9.25V, 4.80A, 44.40W, comparable to the original charger.
Summarizing the third-party chargers' compatibility test data, the third-party chargers provided stable power for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, with voltages mostly maintaining at 9V, except for the Apple 29W charger. The power ranged between 11-45W.
The bar chart clearly shows the power output of each charger, all of which are very stable; a significant number of them reached the 45W level, demonstrating excellent compatibility.
Power Banks
Finally, we got the Anker GaNPrime 140W (737) power bank, which provided 8.41V, 2.65A, 22.26W for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The CUKTECH No.15 achieved a power output of 9.15V, 4.77A, 43.62W.
Summarizing the power bank test data in a table, we observed that the power banks triggered 8V and 9V voltages for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, with power ranging from 8-47W.
The bar chart clearly shows the power distribution of each power bank; the highest power was from the Sidande 1000mAh at 46.23W, while the lowest was the IDMIX Magnetic 10000mAh at 8.59W.
Summary of ChargerLAB
In summary, Samsung's flagship phone maintains its excellent third-party compatibility, providing up to 45W fast charging. The compatibility with power banks is similar to third-party chargers, performing exceptionally well. It continues to excel in charging compatibility, allowing users to achieve a good fast charging experience with their existing chargers.
