The Nintendo Switch was no doubt one of the hottest game consoles of 2017. It’s been a year since Nintendo released the popular console, but they have yet to release any update for the Switch till now. However, not only did they released their 5.0.0 update, but 5.0.1 as well too in the span of a month.

According to Nintendo’s official website, the 5.0.0 update lets users connect with Facebook and Twitter friends. People can now link their social media accounts  and add friends using the Friend Suggestions feature. In addition, users have 24 new Arms and Kirby themed  user icons, filter through unread news or news from specific channels,  receive notifications about pre-purchased software, as well as Nintendo Switch Pro Controller grip colors will now display in the Controllers menu, and more.

As for the 5.0.1 update, it only states “general system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.” Though it is more of a firmware update than feature, it can still make a big difference for Switch’s gaming experience. There’s been much complaint from users about Switch getting glitchy when using the Switch with third-party manufactured accessories, hopefully this can fix that problem.
